Tom Flaherty- born March 7 1962 in Randolph Mass. Moved to Rochester at age 5. I have enjoyed the outdoors all my life. Fishing and small game hunting was something we did all year long in my family. I became interested making things with my hands at an early age. I credit my very talented father for encouraging me.  We were always in the work shop, building furniture, carving, and painting. I still have a great passion for wood working. I entered the skilled trades as a mold maker in 1979 and now run a computerized machining department in a 70 man shop.

I started producing game calls in 1998 when I was disappointed in a very expensive duck call I purchased. The sound was flat, the finish was poor and I just thought, I could do it better myself. So a few years later and about 100 prototypes, I have a call that I’m happy with and that’s where we are now at Flaherty Game Calls.

Wildlife photography has become a recent passion. I have been very lucky to have a few very talented people help me out with this.
